Interested in having us come teach?
We offer in-person lessons! One of our educators will travel to your school or organization and present to your students. Lessons are structured to be taught in two parts and all include an interactive component. All lessons can be adapted to suit K-12 audiences. These units include:
Coral 101: students learn the basics of coral reef ecosystems, coral biology and physiology, the value of coral, threats corals face, how to save them, and more!
What scientists are doing: students learn why scientists monitor coral reefs and learn how to use basic equipment such as ko‘a cards and quadrats to monitor coral health, growth, and diversity.
Contact mailemv@hawaii.edu to schedule a visit. We provide all necessary materials and lessons are completely free!
