Part 1: LOST CITIES

This lesson plan serves as the overall introduction to coral. Included is information on basic coral physiology, significance of corals in Hawaiian culture, and a general overview of why corals are important as well as threats they are facing. Students will watch the Lost Cities documentary and answer corresponding questions provided in the student worksheet. Included is an ocean acidification experiment, making their own climate organization, and an added bonus on how to make a coral polyp.
