Photogrammetry
CRL applies photogrammetry to more effectively gather information about coral growth, survivorship, geometric complexity, and bleaching. This technology is applied across different scales including juvenile, fragment, colony, and reef.
Coral Reef Restoration
Photogrammetry helps to monitor restoration progress by using 3D models and orthomosaic imagery to track coral and reef changes through time. This allows projects to scale more efficiently while collecting higher quality information.
Photogrammetry assets such as orthomosaic and digital elevation model (DEM) imagery help with scaling restoration monitoring efforts more efficiently. These imagery become digital archive records of the reef habitat after each visit to a restoration site and help with tracking and mapping the progress of the reef and corals.

Gathering High Resolution Data
CRL uses customized camera setups to help collect high quality 3D data for coral juveniles and fragments. Projects tracking coral growth, survivorship, bleaching, and geometric complexity have higher quality data from 3D models built at scale.

While They Are Young
Photogrammetry also enhances the ability to capture those “firsts” and collect information about coral growth and 3D qualities after they settle.
